About Us

PDR Partners was established in March 2002 by Claire Jackaman, Jeremy Hyde and Graham Stretch to provide specialist recruitment services to the pharmaceutical industry and related sectors. We were joined in May 2002 by Linda Eden-Ellis, with whom we had the privilege of working at our last company.

In January 2005, we were joined by Pam Hirst who brings 17 years pharmaceutical industry experience to the team.

In April 2006, PDR Partners merged with Bob Gammon Associates, bringing together two businesses that were founded on the same principles of providing a high quality and honest approach to both clients and candidates.

This merger offers a team that has unrivalled experience of, and expertise in, effective recruiting for the pharmaceutical sector.

PDR Partners remains a small, independent business and, as such, we believe we can offer more flexibility, innovation and a closer working relationship than larger organisations typically achieve.

Our business concentrates on our area of expertise, so that you can be assured that we have no conflicts of interest, no desire to cross-sell other services and no distractions. Quite simply we are able to concentrate on providing both clients and candidates with an excellent service.

PDR Partners operate in the United Kingdom and have found candidates in Germany, France, Spain, Holland and Eastern Europe for clients.

Who Are We?

Claire Jackaman – Managing Director.

Before establishing PDR Partners, Claire held the position of Vice President, Global Insourcing for a large, global CRO. With her last company, Claire worked with many pharmaceutical companies in the UK in identifying and managing contract clinical research professionals for their various departmental needs. Claire was closely involved in negotiations for several successful contracts for preferred provider status with leading pharmaceutical companies. Subsequently, Claire took overall responsibility for managing the global team of Insourcing Managers.

Claire’s recruitment work with the UK affiliate of a major USA pharma company resulted in her previous company being awarded a Global Suppliers’ award for “Quality, Service, Speed and Cost Reduction.” This was the first time that a UK supplier had been nominated and awarded this prestigious honour.

With PDR Partners, Claire is responsible for business management, key client relationships, candidate interview and selection and management of contracted employees.

Jeremy Hyde – Non-Executive Director

Jeremy was the founder and owner of ClinPharm Ltd, which was the second largest supplier of contract workers in clinical research in the UK. ClinPharm supplied 17 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies with contract workers in clinical research. ClinPharm was sold in 1999 to a $20 billion US corporation.

Prior to starting ClinPharm, Jeremy was with Talentmark working with client companies to identify and recruit clinical research personnel at all levels, from trainee CRA to Medical Director and Heads of Pharmacology and Regulatory Affairs.

Jeremy is available, as required, for advice and support using his extensive experience in recruitment and company management.

Graham Stretch – Non-Executive Director

Graham was Finance Director of ClinPharm (see above) and stayed on in an executive role as Chief Financial Officer for the major CRO, following the acquisition in 1999. He has been closely involved in the negotiation and management of a number of preferred supplier arrangements covering the provision of contracted staff to leading pharmaceutical companies.

Pam Hirst – Recruitment Consultant

Pam has over 17 years experience working in clinical research and for most of that time has been recruiting CRAs. Pam first took on line management responsibilities for a small team of CRAs at GSK (previously SB), before being promoted to a Group Research Manager position responsible for a team of up to 15 CRAs both office and field based. Three years ago, Pam joined Novartis as a Regional CRA Manager responsible for the recruitment and training and development of a team of up to 20 CRAs.

In 2003, Pam won the Line Manager category of the PharmaTimes Clinical Researcher of the Year. She was a member of the Steering Committee for the 2004 PharmaTimes clinical awards.

Bob Gammon – Principal Consultant

Bob spent 17 years in clinical research at Upjohn, the latter 6 years being served at the company’s European Headquarters in Brussels where he managed the European Phase II/III clinical trial programme.

In 1993, Bob joined ClinPharm where he became a Board Director and headed recruitment and contract staffing. When the company was acquired by United Healthcare, he spent a year in the United States where he established and rapidly grew a new pharmaceutical recruiting business.

Returning to the UK, Bob began his own business, Bob Gammon Associates, which specialised in the permanent recruitment of clinical development professionals in a wide variety of disciplines. His business was acquired by PDR Partners in 2006 where Bob now works as Principal Consultant.

Gem Griffin – Office Manager

Gem has recently joined PDR Partners, in June 2008, as our full time Office Manager. Gem's career has incorporated many varied industries with a solid track record of Office Management. Gem is well known for her organisation, efficiency and excellent interpersonal skills and is highly regarded by both clients and candidates.

At PDR Partners, Gem is responsible for all aspects of administration, invoicing and payments. She is also responsible for the maintenance of our specialised recruitment database and the management of our offices.
